Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday ordered the implementation of Section-144 in the entire state, a day after the new restrictions were announced in Punjab by August 31 due to Corona. This has been done to gather more than five persons anywhere and prohibit all gatherings. This will not be applicable in marriage and indulgence (funerals). The Captain said that we will not allow Punjab to become America.
During his Facebook Live program 'Question to Captain', he said that more stringent steps will be taken after August 31, if needed. He appealed to all political parties to abstain from all the gatherings including dharnas. The Chief Minister said that the concerned managers will be arrested in case of violation of Section-144.
By September 15, more than one lakh patients will be corona in Punjab
The Chief Minister said that by September 3, cases in Punjab are estimated to reach 64,000 and by September 15 this number will cross one lakh. Apart from this, experts estimate that by September 3, the death toll from Corona will reach 1500.
The Captain said, “We will not allow Punjab to go towards the situation like America.” The Captain said that the number of Kovid cases in the state has reached 37,824, which is reflected by the increase in testing. More cases have been reported from Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar, Mohali and Bathinda in the last week.
3000 to 6000 invoices are being deducted every day due to not wearing masks: Captain
Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said on Friday during his Facebook Live program 'Captain Se Saal' that Corona figures are presenting a disappointing picture. He warned that if people do not follow the necessary security measures, the situation will get worse. The Chief Minister said that due to misfortune people are taking it lightly, due to which the government has to take strict steps, some of which have been announced yesterday.
He also said that 3000 to 6000 people are being challaned every day due to not wearing masks. Appealing to the people, the captain said, “Why don't we understand that security measures are necessary to save the lives of you and other Punjabis?”
Emphasizing that testing and treatment is the key to rescue without losing time, the captain said that it is necessary to report to the hospital within 72 hours of symptoms appearing. He said that negative perceptions were not linked to this and he himself had done his test twice. The Chief Minister also reiterated his appeal to donate plasma to those who have recovered from Kovid to save the lives of others.
Rumor of getting money denied
In response to a question asked by a resident of Ludhiana about rumors circulating in his village that the state government would get Rs 3 lakh from the Center for every Kovid patient, the Chief Minister rejected it. He said that this information is incorrect and not a single rupee has been received. The Chief Minister said that his government is writing repeatedly for financial assistance to the Center to actually fight the epidemic.
