According to sources, the first of the two Boeing 777-300 Extended Range (ER) aircraft, retrofitted with advanced security systems to jam and defeat incoming missiles and encrypted communications facilities, will arrive in India early next week While the second will be delivered by the end of the year.
A few months ago a picture of India's first 'Air Force One' aircraft was also revealed. On this modern technology aircraft of light white color, with the country's emblem, India is written in Hindi and India in English.
These aircraft will be equipped with Large Aircraft Infrared Counterthesor (LAIRCM), a technique that will not be able to attack missiles on these aircraft, on the lines of 'Air Force One' used for the President of America. The foreign military sales deal with the US alone in these security systems cost Rs 1,365 crore. Apart from this, these planes will also have self-protection suites. These aircraft can be named as 'Air India One' or 'Indian Air Force One'.
These two Boeing-777 aircraft are being equipped with advanced security systems such as missile warning, counter major dispensing system and encrypted satellite communication. If private artificial intelligence is used in these aircraft, these will also be hi-tech like the Flying Oval Office of the US President.
What is LAIRCM technology?
With this technology, the fear of missile attack can be completely eliminated. It emits a laser beam that can beat the missile guidance system. The advanced missile system can also be dodged through this and the crew does not need to do any kind of action for this. It was used by the US Navy for its petrol jet and CH-53 super chopper.
What is unique about LAIRCM?
LAIRCM-SPS protects large aircraft from shoulder-to-shoulder and intermediate-class missiles. It increases crew warning times, reduces false alarm rates and automatically countes hostile missiles. The aircraft can fly non-stop for more than 17 hours. It has been adapted for larger cabins with bedrooms, in addition to a mini hospital and conference room.
