On Monday, a consultation meeting was held between top officials of the army, foreign ministry and defense ministry over the ongoing border dispute with China. After this meeting, an official said, the issue of LAC is not negotiable only. Until the Chinese troops fully return, our troops will also be stationed in the forward areas in eastern Ladakh.
The goal of this inter-ministerial meeting was to formulate India's future strategy ahead of the 'Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on Indo-China Border Affairs' (WMCC) diplomatic talks to be held this week.

There have been five rounds of military talks between the two countries over the border dispute, but so far no change has been seen in China's obstinate attitude. Controversy still continues in Pangong Tso and Gogra region.
China has maintained a firm stand on the border and is engaged in forcibly sending troops towards the LAC. The military standoff between India and China has reached its fourth month. At the same time, India has also strengthened its military position. The army has made complete arrangements for 30 thousand jawans in Ladakh in winter.
Another official said, top-level political-diplomatic intervention would be needed since the military talks failed with unreasonable demands by the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
