The process of shutting down Internet Explorer 11 will begin from November 30 this year. After this, Microsoft 365 apps and services will not support the browser starting from 17 August 2021. At the same time, the Edge browser will be closed in March 2021. 7 months later, Microsoft will introduce a Chromium-based Edge browser, which will be available in all sport versions of Windows and Mac operating systems. On behalf of the company, it has been clarified that Internet Explorer 11 will not be completely closed if support is stopped. These apps are still working. Eventually, the existing customers will be taken to Chromium-based Microsoft Edge.

A dedicated Internet Explorer mode is included in the new Edge browser. Also, the new browser will provide faster web access to Microsoft 365 subscribers.
