The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal to set up a National Recruitment Agency. Giving information, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar said that this is a great news for the youth looking for government jobs. SSC, Railway Recruitment Board and Banking Sector will now simultaneously hold preliminary examination for the job. Women in particular will now feel great relief.

The National Recruitment Agency will conduct the Common Eligibility Test (CET). Right now only three agency exams are being made common, in the coming time a Common Eligibility Test will be conducted for all recruitment agencies. The CET merit list will be valid for three years. The central government has approved an amount of Rs 1517.57 crore for the National Recruitment Agency.

According to Union Minister Jitendra Singh, this is one of the historical reforms in the history of independent India. With the implementation of this process, recruitment, selection process and getting jobs will also become easier. There are more than 20 recruitment agencies in the central government. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced a proposal to create a National Recruitment Agency for government jobs while presenting the budget for 2020-21.

This will be a computer based online test. There will be a center for it in every district of the country. The two-year selection process for government jobs will now be completed in a few months. Two and a half million youth will be able to take the government job test. This exam will be for the posts of 'B' and 'C' group.

The benefit of this preliminary examination will be that applicants who score well in it will automatically become eligible for other examinations of the same group. The result of the examination that the National Recruitment Agency will take, will be valid for three years. For three years, a candidate will not have to take the preliminary examination again to take a job in the said group.

There are many problems in the current examination system

In the current examination system, there have been many institutional problems. The central and state governments have separate recruitment boards. All boards or commissions conduct examinations for various positions in their own way. The method of Railway Recruitment Board is completely different. SSC recruits various posts in its own way.

The banking sector has also made separate rules for its recruitment. There has been a lack of standards set in the recruitment process of these institutions. Women and men applicants, especially in railway and banking sector jobs, had to face a lot of problems.

Eligible women from rural areas could not give the test even if they wanted to. If the examination center is several hundred km away, they had to think many times. Who will go with, where will stay. There were many such questions which finally led the family to the conclusion that Quit giving the exam next time.

117 special centers will be set up

An examination center will be established in every district for the general eligibility test to be conducted by the NRA. 117 special examination centers will be built. The youth of rural areas will get the benefit. They will be able to choose the center of their choice. However, other applicants have also been given the option to provide a center of choice.

SSC, Railway Recruitment Board and Institute of Banking Personal Selection, the preliminary examination of the three will be simultaneously. The criteria for preliminary examination of the three agencies will also remain the same. Tests will be possible in different languages. In the present system, applicants are allotted the examination center at a great distance from their home. For example, a Punjab candidate goes to West Bengal or Mumbai to take the exam.

In such a situation, they have to face many problems. The NRA will set up examination centers in more than 700 districts of the country. The central government has a sufficient number of computer and technical staff. In central government, 1.25 lakh posts of 'B' and 'C' groups are recruited. Over 2.5 crore applicants appear in these examinations. Fifty such recruitment exams are held every year.

The recruitment process takes one and a half to two years to complete. There are many exams that take even four years. If there is a problem of corruption or corruption in any examination, then it is investigated. In such a situation, the entire recruitment process hangs. If the case goes to court, there is a delay in the result.

The applicant can take the preliminary examination of several exams simultaneously.

CET will sort the applicants from the General Examination. Applicants appearing in the examination will be given a score based on their marks. This score will be shared with various recruitment agencies. This score will be seen when the final selection process begins. The applicant will be able to take the preliminary examination of several examinations simultaneously.

In the current system, it happens many times that two exams are held on the same day. The examination centers of both are also far away. In such a case, the applicant has to leave an examination. Now one day there will be only one exam. The score received by the applicant will be valid for three years.

CET will recognize the best score through its system. The National Recruitment Agency will have a general registration portal. There will be question paper bank, central server, test center, test nodes and score board. With the safe examination system and quick results, many problems of the applicants will be eliminated. The possibility of paper leaks in this examination system will be completely eliminated.
