However, private train operators must already provide to the railways a list of stations where they want to halt in addition to the train's origin and destination. Private rail operators must share the list of stops at stations falling in the middle of the route with the railways.
Along with this, they will also have to tell at what time the train will arrive at the station and when it will leave. According to the draft agreement, the stay schedule will be for one year and will have to be reported first. Only then can the halt at the middle station be reviewed.
On the question of a potential private operator involved in the pre-application meeting, the Railways said that the company can take a flexible approach in deciding the stay at the stations as per the terms and conditions of the concession agreement.
The Railways has clarified that private trains will not be allowed to hold more than the stoppage of the fastest running train on that route at present. Railways will also have to include those stations which will be needed for filling water in bogies, cleaning etc.
Explain that the fare of these private trains starting from the year 2023 will not be regulated by any authority. Private rail operators will have the freedom to fix fares according to market conditions.
