On the occasion of 74th Independence Day, actress Vani Kapoor shared her childhood memories associated with this special day with Dainik Bhaskar. Vani said, 'We used to get ready for those programs a week before the event. We used to enjoy a lot while preparing ourselves for the performance. We used to get together after lunch break to practice in preparation for the march-past, speeches, dances, sports, cultural activities and other things. '
He said, 'Due to the lockdown this time we are locked in all the houses. Obviously this time there are practical and emotional challenges, which we have had to face during the bandh. However it has made us aware of the importance of those things which we used to take very casually. ' 'For example, I have stayed away from planning sudden vacations with friends and family. I have not seen my parents for so long and I have missed them a lot. '
According to Vani, 'In this atmosphere, we should also celebrate this Independence Day by saluting the frontline workers. We are at war with the coronovirus and I salute all the frontline workers – medical staff, police, sanitation workers and everyone who is putting themselves at risk for us. '
