- On the question of the deaths of the workers, the government had said in Parliament a day ago that there are no figures
- Claim of an NGO – Between March 24 and June 2, 198 workers died in accidents
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has taunted the Modi government over the issue of workers' deaths in the lockdown. Rahul tweeted on Tuesday and said- 'Modi government does not know how many migrant laborers died in lockdown and how many jobs went. Did you not count if you did not die? Yes but sadly the government was not affected. The world has seen his death, there is a Modi government, which is not known.
The Modi government does not know how many migrant workers died in lockdown and how many jobs were lost.
Did you not count if you did not die?
Yes, but the government is unhappy,
The world saw his death,
There is a Modi government which has not been reported.

Government forgot in Parliament …
Rahul said this because the Central Government says that he does not know how many laborers died while returning home during the lockdown. In the first session of the Parliament in the Coronaco, the government admitted that it did not have any data on the death of migrant laborers. Not only this, the government has not conducted any survey on how many workers lost their jobs during the lockdown.
On the first day of the session, MPs asked 230 unstarred questions, out of which 31 were related to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, 15 of which were related to employment loss during the Corona period, death and unemployment rates of migrant laborers. Question number 60 was asked, what is the state-wise number of casualties of workers while returning to their homes due to lockdown? So the government said – no record of such figures is kept.
But the public did not forget …
According to the NGO Save Life Foundation, 198 workers died in accidents between March 24 and June 2.
