The virologist, who became a whistleblower against the Chinese government to deal with Corona, was tasked with looking into a group of cases like SARS (Corona-like virus) originating from China in December last year.
The top scientist, who works in Hong Kong, claimed that he unearthed a cover-up operation during his investigation and said the Chinese government was aware of the spread of the virus before it was publicly acknowledged.

Dr. Li-Meng, who specialized in virology and immunology from the 'Hong Kong School of Public Health', was forced to flee to the US allegedly due to security concerns. On 11 September, he gave an interview to the British talk show 'Loose Women' from a secret place and talked about his research and challenges on corona virus disease.
Dr Li-Meng said that he did two research on 'New Pneumonia' in China in late December and early January and shared the results with his supervisor who was a consultant to the World Health Organization (WHO).
She was expecting her supervisor to do the right thing on behalf of the Chinese government and WHO. But he was very surprised when he was asked to maintain silence and threatened not to do so if he did not. Virologists said that it is common in China to make scientists disappear.
Dr. Li-Meng said that no one responded to this. People were afraid of the government. They were waiting to cooperate with the government and the WHO to avoid this mess and get more benefits, but this information was extremely important.
