Russian President Vladimir Putin announced last month that Russian scientists have developed the world's first vaccine 'Sputnik-V' of Kovid-19. He had said that one of his daughters has been vaccinated, is very effective and develops permanent immunity in the body.
India's defense minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the Russian government and the people there for being successful in preventing the spread of corona virus infection. Singh said at the SCO meeting on Friday, “I congratulate the government and public of Russia for successfully controlling the Kovid-19 epidemic.”
Discussions are taking place at several levels between Moscow and the Indian government regarding the vaccine. It also includes issues such as vaccine supply, co-development and co-production. According to media reports, Russia has shared ways of cooperation with India on the vaccine. It is currently being closely studied by the Indian government.
This vaccine has been developed by the Gamalaya Research Institute of Moscow in collaboration with the Russian Ministry of Defense. Russia is going to make Corona vaccine Sputnik V available to common citizens from this week.
