Out of 240 current (3 vacant out of 243) MLAs of Bihar Legislative Assembly, 136 or 57% of the MLAs are tainted. There are serious criminal cases on 94. 160 i.e. 67% of the MLAs are millionaires. The Bihar Election Watch and the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) report it in a report based on the financial, criminal, education, gender and other details announced by the current legislators.
The report is based on the affidavit given in the 2015 assembly elections and subsequent by-elections. 11 MLAs have declared cases related to murder. 30 is a case of attempt to murder. 5 MLAs have declared cases related to female atrocities. One of them is a rape case. .
Congress MLAs have the highest average assets of 4.36 crores
Current MLAs have an average assets of 3.06 crores. Talking about the average assets of party-wise MLAs, the average assets of RJD MLAs is 3.02 crores, JLU's MLA is 2.79 crores, BJP's 2.38 crores and Congress MLAs are 4.36 crores.
18 MLAs owe more than 50 lakhs, Dadan Yadav tops
18 MLAs have declared their dues of 50 lakh and above. Among the three MLAs who have declared the highest liability, JDU MLA Dumaon Yadav of Dumraon has Rs 11,65,45,500 and Independent MLA Anant Singh of Mokama has Rs 40201525 and Congress MLA Ajit Sharma of Bhagalpur has a liability of 313,04,388.
At the same time, JDU MLA from Benipur Sunil Chaudhary has shown an income of Rs 5 crore 32 lakh 19 thousand 753 in the name of himself and wife in 2014-15. At the same time, income of Rs 4 crore 92 lakh 55 thousand 237 has been shown in the name of himself.
9 MLAs Only Literate
educational qualification : 94 i.e. 39% MLAs declared educational qualification between 5th to 12th, while 134 i.e. 56% MLAs declared educational qualification as graduation and above. 9 MLAs have declared educational qualification as literate.
Age of MLAs: 128 i.e. 53% of MLAs declared age between 25 and 50 years, while 112 MLAs i.e. 47% declared age between 51 and 80.
