– Central Government and Asian Development Bank sign loan agreement
– Rapid rail operation from Delhi to Meerut will start in 2025
However, the Asian Development Bank will provide one billion dollars for the Rapid Rail project. The loan agreement on behalf of the government was signed by Sameer Kumar Khare, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance and Kenichi Yokoyama, Country Director of ADB's India Resident Mission.
Vinay Kumar Singh, Managing Director of National Capital Transport Sector Corporation said that NCR is one of the fastest growing regions in the world. This agreement with ADB is an important step towards realizing the RRTS project.
These facilities will be available
After the rapid rail run, the distance from Delhi to Meerut will be completed in less than an hour. The construction work of the project on the ground is going on at a fast pace. Pillar construction work has started from Shatabdinagar to Meerut to Sahibabad.
Many technologies will be used in the country for the first time in a rapid rail running at a speed of 180 kmph. Rapid rail coaches are being constructed under the Make in India initiative in Savli, Gujarat.
Transferred 25 electric hypertension lines
The NCRTC has completed the relocation of a 220 kV single circuit electric hypertension line near the depot to be built at Modipuram. A total of 25 hypertension lines that are obstructing the work have been shifted so far.
