London-based industrialist Geeta Sidhu Robb was chosen as the Liberal Democrat candidate to challenge Sadiq Khan of the Labor Party in next year's London mayoral election but was instead suspended from the party .
She was suspended after a video surfaced during the 1997 general election in which she is making comments against Jews. Rob said, 'I apologize for my actions during the 1997 general election. People were hurt by my behavior and I apologize wholeheartedly for this.
He said, 'There is no place for any kind of racism and anti-social comments in the society, so I apologize for my behavior during that time'. Robb, then a candidate from Blackburn in the general election on behalf of the Conservative Party about 23 years ago, said of the then Labor Party MP Jack Staw, 'Don't vote Jewish, Jack Straw is a Jew.'
Rob, who lost the election at the hands of Jack, said he was 'extremely embarrassed' for his comments made during that time.
