New cases of corona virus are coming to Israel in record number every day. It is feared that a nationwide lockdown could be imposed here this week. The demonstration comes a day after Israel announced it would establish diplomatic relations with Bahrain. Bahrain is the second Arab country to normalize relations with Israel in a month.
But this announcement did not have much effect on the thousands of protesters, who were gathered outside the residence of Prime Minister Netanyahu. Protesters have been demonstrating outside Netanyahu's residence every Saturday throughout the summer. These demonstrations began in protest against the ongoing corruption case against Netanyahu. At the same time, demonstrations started due to the health crisis caused by Corona.
Last Saturday, police detained several protesters. Netanyahu, while not paying special attention to the protesters, described them as leftists and anarchists.
