What is the whole matter
Former Naval officer Madan Sharma was forced to forward a cartoon in Maharashtra's capital Mumbai, criticizing Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, on WhatsApp. Shiv Sainiks considered the cartoon an insult to Uddhav and attacked the former officer on Friday.
In his statement to the police, Sharma said that after forwarding the cartoon, I received a call from a person who asked me his name and home address before 10 am on Friday. Half an hour later, a person calling himself Kamlesh Kadam called and asked why I posted the cartoon.
Sharma said in the statement that I said in step that I have only forwarded Cortoon from one WhatsApp group to another. Then around 12 noon, an unknown person called me at the telephone number of my house and said that I should come to the society gate because he wants to talk to me.
The former naval officer said that when I reached the gate of the society, there were 8-10 people standing there. They asked me why I posted that cortoon on WhatsApp. I then told them that I had only forwarded from one group to another. But they did not listen to me and started beating me badly.
