The attack on former naval officer Madan Sharma has been condemned by former officers of the armed forces. These officials issued a statement on Sunday, saying, “It is unbelievable that the Mumbai Police and Maharashtra Government took such a serious matter so carelessly.”
Till now, justice has not been done in the case and getting bail to the accused is like sprinkling salt on the burn. There is little hope of justice in the case.
The statement, signed by more than 600 former officials, said that strict action was not taken against those accused of attacking a former Navy officer and degrading his family due to his involvement with the political party. This is incredibly shocking and hooliganism with a former naval officer in Mumbai is unacceptable.
Also said that what happened to Madan Sharma is condemnable. We must ensure the dignity, honor and security of former military officers and make it a top priority to every citizen. Those who signed the statement included Air Chief Marshal (Retd) Pradeep Naik, Vice Admiral (Retd) Shekhar Sinha, Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmeet Singh and Air Marshal (Retd) SP Singh.
Former soldiers were attacked in UP, but the Defense Minister did not call them: Raut
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut while expressing sympathy to former Naval officer Madan Sharma said, “I oppose the incident that happened to him.” If someone attacks, don't ask us. Maharashtra is a big state. It can happen to anyone. Do you know how many former soldiers have been attacked in UP? But the defense minister never called him.
He said that our government believes that this should not happen to any innocent person. Law is the rule in Maharashtra and the accused are arrested immediately. Unfortunately some parties are doing politics for their own interests. The defense minister is also interested in the case. If you throw mud on someone, then people get angry, but it is unfair to associate it with the government.
