Amid the ongoing dispute with China, Indian Army personnel have placed a flag on some important fronts of the major peaks on the southern shore of Pangong Lake in Ladakh. The people of the villages around this area are helping the Indian youth. Around 60 people from Chushul village are delivering water and essential goods to Black Top Mountain.
First the Indian Army hired one person from each house as a porter. They were paid for this. But now people have offered free service to support the Indian Army. Today, for the fifth consecutive day, Lagegan of Chushul rendered his services. The villagers of Maan Mark village will do this work from Sunday.
Around 170 families live around this area.
Army trucks carry water up to halfway. Volunteers then have to carry water and other essentials for about 3 to 4 kilometers to the top of Black Top Mountain. Chushul village is the nearest to Black Top. About 170 families live here.
