The president's spokesman said that the final verdict that Jamal Khashogi died at the Istanbul Consulate and the sentence pronounced by the Saudi court did not meet the expectations of Turkey and the world community.
He said that there are many questions that raise doubts on the credibility of the legal proceedings. “We were urging the Saudi authorities to cooperate with the investigation into the murder on 2 October 2018 in Turkey,” Altun said. But he has been dissatisfied with this punishment. He said that it is a legal and duty-bound obligation that Saudi Jamal Khashogi shed light on the killing.
There was worldwide condemnation
Investigation into the Khashogi massacre conducted by Turkey revealed that Khashoggi was tragically killed by a special squad of the Intelligence Department of Saudi Arabia and his body was destroyed inside the consulate. This barbaric murder of the journalist was strongly condemned all over the world.
