Wholesale passenger vehicle sales in India rose 14.19 percent to 3,10,294 units in October from 2,71,737 units in the same month last year. The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has given this information. SIAM said that there has been a pick-up in demand during the festive season, to meet which dealers called for more number of vehicles. According to the data, two-wheeler sales during the period increased by 16.88 per cent to 20,53,814 units from 17,57,180 units in the same month last year. During this period, motorcycle sales increased by 23.8 percent to 13,82,749 units and scooter sales were up by 1.79 percent to 5,90,507 units.
