Taking a lesson from the Bihar assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party is finalizing its strategy for next year's assembly elections in West Bengal. Party sources gave this information on Wednesday. The state currently has a Trinamool Congress government headed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
NDA has won 125 seats in the results of the elections held in Bihar with 243 assembly seats. The BJP has become the second largest party in Bihar with 74 seats won. The BJP outstripped its main ally, which got only 43 seats.
After ensuring victory in Bihar, the BJP is now focused on politically important Bengal. The party has set a target of winning more than 200 seats out of 294 in the state elections held in March-April next year. Bengal has 42 MPs in the Lok Sabha, while Bihar has only two.
