At least 74 migrants aboard have drowned when a ferry going to Europe collapsed near the coast of Libya. Significantly, this is at least the eighth incident of a boat sinking in the area since October 1.
The United Nations Migrant Agency says a total of 120 people, including women and children, were aboard the boat at the time of the incident. She sank near the Libyan port Al-Khums. According to the International Migrant Organization, only 47 people could be safely rescued.
