The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has named 16 people against the Supreme Court and Andhra Pradesh High Court judges for allegedly making derogatory comments on social media. The names of 16 of these accused are recorded, while one is shown as unknown.
Explain that the Andhra Pradesh High Court had ordered the CBI to investigate the case. The court had directed the agency to complete the investigation and submit the report in a sealed envelope within eight weeks. It is noteworthy that earlier this case was being investigated by Andhra Pradesh CID.
The High Court, taking cognizance of the alleged derogatory remarks, directed the CBI to investigate the role of some well-known people in Andhra Pradesh who were deliberately targeting the Supreme Court and High Court judges. The next hearing in this case will now be held on 14 December.
