Dr. Mohit of the cardiology department of GB Pant Hospital said that what are the changes in the functioning of the heart functioning of the people who have been cured of the infection? A study plan is being worked out to find out. There have been many cases abroad where the heart muscle of the patients got swollen. However, it is not immediately known how this disease has affected the heart. Research needs to be done to see its long-term effects.
Seven patients had to install pacemakers
GB Pant's doctor Ankit Bansal said that there were studies on seven heart patients who got corona infected. The heart rate of these patients was just 30 to 42 bpm per minute. Five of these patients have been fitted with permanent pacemakers. Temporary pacing and treatment have improved in the heart rate of two other patients, but such cases are clearly showing that now corona also causes and aggravates heart problems.
There is also a risk of heart attack
Corona-infected patients also have a higher risk of heart attack. Blood clots also form in the blood vessels of the infected. These clots can also reach the heart, due to which the risk of heart attack also increases. Dr. Ajit Jain of Rajiv Gandhi Hospital says that during the treatment of serious patients admitted in the ICU, the D dimer level is detected in the test, to know whether there is a blood clot in the patient's arteries. This is the reason why medicines are being emphasized to prevent blood clotting in corona patients.
