According to Delhi government data, there were 3,359 Kovid-19 prohibited areas in the city on November 1, but the number increased to 4,430 on November 15. The maximum is 740 in South West Delhi and the lowest is in 142 North East Delhi.
Delhi has been witnessing an increase in corona virus cases since October 28, when more than five thousand cases were reported for the first time and the number of new cases had crossed eight thousand on Wednesday.
On Thursday, 104 infected people died in one day, the highest in five months. According to the revenue department, as of November 15, there are more than 500 prohibited areas in three districts of Delhi. These include Southwest (740), South (700), West (568) and South Eastern (505).
The number of prohibited areas in Central Delhi is 472 while in North West Delhi there are 421 and in New Delhi district there are 246 prohibited areas. As of Sunday, the total corona virus cases in Delhi were over 4.85 lakhs while the death toll was 7614.
