There will be a ban in these cities
In a directive issued by Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari, the pollution level in Muzaffarnagar has deteriorated, the pollution levels in Agra, Varanasi, Meerut, Hapur are very bad and Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Noida, Greater Noida, Baghpat, Bulandshahar and Moradabad Pollution level is reported to be in critical condition. In such a situation, there will be a complete ban on firecrackers in these cities. The ban will come into force with immediate effect and will continue till the night of 30 November.

This includes Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Hapur, Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Baghpat and Bulandshahr in the NCR region, where the NGT has already banned firecrackers. According to the directive issued by the government, where AQI is below 200, green crackers can be released according to the guide line of NGT. Apart from this, the government has asked to encourage the celebration of Deepawali with green firecrackers and digital and laser technology.
