Government is not worried about coldchain at present
A senior health ministry official said that the companies making the corona virus vaccine are making different claims. Some 70 are confirming the vaccine to be protected at temperatures from 2 to 8 degrees Celsius. But at the grassroots level, coldchain can only be acted upon when one of the claims can be trusted.
Indeed, scientist Ugur Sahin of the Pfizer team has recently said that the vaccine will hit the virus hard and end the epidemic. The complete data of the vaccine can come in three weeks. The vaccine will provide protection for one year and a booster may be required every year.
The member of this national task force also said in a conversation with 'Tech for FTCP' that there are problems regarding coldchain management in the country. However, it is too early to take any decision on these challenges.
India self-reliant in vaccine
India is moving rapidly towards self-sufficiency with the Corona vaccine. Task Force officials say that instead of relying on the claims of different countries, the government is focusing more on indigenous companies. He is hopeful that in the coming days the vaccine of these companies will be available to crores of people of the country.
