Ten countries of the ASEAN Group will participate with India in this conference. During this time, there will be discussion on measures to bring the derailed economy back on track due to Corona epidemic and to increase cooperation among all countries.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the conference will discuss the current status of strategic partnership between ASEAN and India and key issues like connectivity, maritime cooperation, trade and commerce, education and capacity building. The Association of South East Asian States (ASEAN) includes India, US, China, Japan and Australia, besides regional countries.

The Foreign Ministry said that this conference, which is being held in Ladakh, between the deadlock with China and the aggressive attitude of China in the South China Sea, will include all those countries whose geographical dispute with China continues.

ASEAN includes Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia. PM Modi attended the 16th ASEAN India Conference held in Bangkok in November last year.
