Home Minister Anil Vij held a meeting with higher officials in this regard on Tuesday. Vij said that a strict law will be enacted to control the matters of love jihad in the state. A committee will be formed to draft it. It will also be discussed with Chief Minister Manohar Lal.
He said that with the enactment of this law, any person in the state will stop the pressure, inducement, any kind of conspiracy or conversion of love to convert and strict action will be taken against the culprits. The draft of the law was discussed in the meeting. All high officials gave their suggestions. Vij said that the law should be the harshest. He asked the Home Department to issue a notification for the formation of the committee soon.
Laws made in other states will be studied
He informed that laws made on this subject will also be studied in other states. The Home Department, Advocate General and other concerned officers will be included in this committee. Additional Chief Secretary of the department Rajiv Arora, Director General of Police Manoj Yadav, Additional Director General of Police CID Alok Mittal, Additional Director General of Police Navdeep Singh Virk and other officers were present in the meeting.
