Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the life-size statue of Swami Vivekananda on the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) today. Preparations have started on the JNU campus before the PM's program. On Wednesday, ABVP student organization took out the Samman Yatra from Sabarmati Dhaba to Vivekananda Statue.
According to information received from the Prime Minister's Office, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will also be present in the event to be held through video conferencing.
The Prime Minister's Office said in a statement that the principles and messages of Swami Vivekananda still show the way to the youth of the country. India is proud that a person like her born here inspires crores of people all over the world even today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi always says that the ideals of Swami Vivekananda that were relevant during his lifetime are still today.
At 6:30 this evening, will unveil a statue of Swami Vivekananda at the JNU campus and share my thoughts on the occasion. The program will be held via video conferencing. I look forward to the program this evening.
