Airtel’s alliance with Qualcomm for 5G, fast internet service at home

New Delhi. Two big tech companies have joined hands to provide 5G service soon in the country. Bharti Airtel has partnered with Qualcomm Technologies (Qualcomm) to accelerate 5G services in India. The company has given this information in an information sent to market regulators on Tuesday.
Airtel and Qualcomm will also work jointly to develop a 5G fixed wireless access network. After this the home internet network will be upgraded. It will upgrade the existing broadband infrastructure to offer a gigabit class home Wi-Fi network. It is believed that Airtel will beat other telecom companies through fast internet at home. This service will help upgrade last mile internet connectivity services in remote areas on the new 5G network.

Airtel demo 5G in Hyderabad for the first time in the country

Recently, Airtel showcased a 5G live commercial network in Hyderabad city. Airtel is the first company in the country to do so. Now for the expansion of this service, Airtel has selected Qualcomm as its partner. Airtel and Qualcomm Technologies will collaborate for its extensive use, including 5G fixed wireless access.

This work will be done under the agreement

Through Airtel’s network vendors and device partners, Airtel will roll out virtualized and open RAN-based SG networks. In this, he will use the Qualcomm 5G RAN platform. Whereas, Airtel will also play an important role in building the O-RAN Alliance. This technology is capable of using 5G radio technology in a highly scalable and flexible model. This helps more users to use 5G. Not only this, the deployment of 5G networks will create new opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses.
