Increased cases of corona have once again raised people’s concern. New cases have been increasing in Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh since last 7 days. Maharashtra (44,765) and Kerala (59,817) account for more than 75% of the country’s total active cases.
Health Ministry said on Saturday that since February 13, there has been an increase in cases in Madhya Pradesh. There have been around 300 new cases here in the last 24 hours. At the same time, more than 250 cases were found in Chhattisgarh on Friday.
According to the ministry, there are frequent cases of corona in Kerala. In the past day, more than 6 thousand cases were reported in Maharashtra. Similarly, a sudden increase in the number of infected people has also been recorded in Punjab. There have been 383 new cases here in the last 24 hours. The government has instructed that people should not be negligent and follow the Corona Guideline. The chain of infection can be broken by this.
N440K variant of epidemic spread in South India
More than 5 thousand variants of the corona found in the country have been researched by scientists of Hyderabad’s Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CSIR-CCMB). It was found that South India has the highest spread of N440K variants of Corona. However, where and when this variant spread, it is not yet known. CCMB director Rakesh Mishra said, “It needs to be monitored to know the reasons and methods for the spread of this variant.”
Dangerous variants did not show any effect in India
CCMB Director Prof. Rakesh Mishra said that in many countries of the world, the variants that have become dangerous have not shown much effect in India. One reason for this could also be that we did not have much sequencing. We need to sequence more genomes of the virus, so that new variants can be identified.

Testing figures exceed 21 million
Corona testing figures across the country have crossed 21 crores i.e. 21 million people have been screened so far in a country with a population of 138 crores. Among them, 5.21%, more than 1.09 crore people were found infected. It is a matter of concern that after reducing the number of corona patients in the country for about 4 months, now it has seen a boom once again.
More than 13 thousand cases occurred in the last 24 hours
On Saturday, 13 thousand 430 new patients were found. 10 thousand 814 people recovered and 82 died. So far 1.09 crore have been infected in the country. 1.06 crore people were cured and 1.56 lakh people have died. There are currently 1.42 lakh active cases in the country.
Are there increasing patients due to decreased testing
The Union Health Ministry had also said that due to increasing number of patients in Delhi during the Diwali last year, testing was also low. According to the ministry, due to reduced testing, patients could not be traced at the right time and the infection continued to spread. Now the same situation is seen in the whole country.
The government conducted an average of 11 lakh tests every day till October-November, but now it has reduced to just 6 lakhs. It has seen a decrease of about 5 lakhs. In such a situation, the question is arising whether the number of patients has started increasing due to reduction in testing. If the patients had been traced at the right time, the infection could still have been controlled.
