It has been 87 days for the ongoing peasant movement against agricultural laws. Meanwhile, the process of farmers committing suicide is not stopping. Father and son in a farmer family of Punjab got suicide on Friday. The matter came to light on Saturday in the village of Muhammedipur in Hoshiarpur district. In the suicide note which has been received, the Modi government as well as the Amarinder government of Punjab have been held responsible.
The father-son wrote a suicide note in Punjabi before committing suicide.
The deceased have been identified as Numberdar Jagtar Singh and his son Kripal Singh. On the information of his family, the police reached the spot and recovered the suicide note. It reads, ‘Modi government is cheating farmers. Agricultural laws have ruined farmers. Modi government is not listening to one of his things. Captain Sarkar too has not forgiven our debt. We are fed up, no longer want to live. That is why we are committing suicide.
More than 200 deaths so far in the peasant movement
The farmers have been agitating on the borders of Delhi since 26 November. Along with this, demonstrations are going on in different states. More than 200 people who participated in the peasant movement have died so far due to different reasons. Some of them committed suicide, many farmers died due to heart attack, cold and accidents.
