Loni police station in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh has arrested a printing press printing fake books of well-known companies in the Tronica City industrial area. The raid has recovered nearly four crore fake books from companies including Spectrum Books, McGrawHill, KD Publications, Chronicle Books, UbSPD, Orient Black Swan. The police sealed the press and arrested the accused.
The accused used to do this business under the cover of printing religious books. He used to print a fake book of 500 books of reputed companies and sell it for 200. Printing press operator Gul Mohammad is 12th pass and hails from Daryaganj, Delhi. From printing of books to packing was done in the press itself. These books were being printed in the press for almost a year. The operator used to work with the artisans on machines worth three to four lakhs.
Legal Advocate Advocate Sanjeev Kumar Raghav of the companies whose fake books were being printed said that it was reported that fake books of several well-known companies were being printed in Tronica City Industrial Area. And they are being supplied all over the country. A raid was conducted with the local police on Thursday night.
The press found fake books from several well-known companies including Spectrum Books, McGrawHill, KD Publications, Chronicle Books, UbSPD, Orient Black Swan. They cost around four crores. The press is sealed. The police has been given a complaint against the accused director Gul Mohammad. SP countryside Dr Eraj Raja told that the police team has arrested the accused. He is under interrogation. Some other names have also emerged. The accused had taken the building on rent from a person named Feroze. Police has filed a report. Names that came to light in the inquiry will also be processed. The main accused Gul Mohammad also printed religious books. Under the guise of which he used to print the books of these companies.
Used to sell 500 rupees books for 200
The accused had been running the press here for almost a year. He used to supply books in different parts of the country including Patna, Lucknow. He also sold books online. The book, which is priced at Rs 500 in the company, was sold by the accused for more than 50%. Most of the competition books were produced in the press.
Used to get the company’s original book printed in the factory
The accused used to buy the original book of the company. Then he used to get the content and print it in his press. He prepares the book identically by putting a fake hologram of the company on the books. By looking at the hologram, buyers also did not know the difference between real and fake.
