Doctor’s Protest: Resident doctors say that since 2016, they have been demanding arrears on the basis of seventh pay scale. Recently, the Health Secretary had asked for a month’s time, that too has passed, but there was no initiative from the government.
Along with RIMS, senior resident doctors of MGM, PMCH, Hazaribagh, Palamu and Dumka are protesting. Dr. Vikas, who served as senior resident in the RIMS Neuro Surgery Department, justified his demand and told News18 that the senior residency is only two years, then after two years, no one knows where it will be in four years. It is not pertinent to keep Ariel hanging for five years.
Dr. Ajit Kumar, Joint Secretary Surgery of IMA Ranchi and currently Medical Officer of Sadar Hospital, says that like the previous government, this government is also indifferent to the interests of senior doctors. Since 2016, arrears are being demanded on the basis of the seventh pay scale. The Health Secretary had asked for a month’s time, but it also passed but the result was zero.
RJDA will take tough decision if demand is not metThe RIMS Junior Doctors Association said that the Junior Doctors Association is in support of the legitimate demands of the Senior Resident. In such a situation, if the government defers, then a step like work boycott will be taken.
