The strike of resident doctors of Jharkhand has ended.
More than 700 resident and junior doctors of Jharkhand have called off their strike. After this, the OPD service will start from tomorrow.
During this time it was also clear that the approval of arrears has been received from the Government of Jharkhand today. In the budget session of March, the Finance Department will edit the pending work of the paper by the end of this month and the process of arrear payment will be done in a phased manner by the end of April.
Why were the resident doctors on strike?
Resident doctors were on strike since 8 March because the government was not paying the pending amount of the seventh pay scale between 2016 and 2019. Earlier, from March 1 to March 8, the doctors had protested by putting a black badge, but after that the doctors went on strike after negotiations with the secretary and RIMS director failed. However, due to the doctors’ strike, the medical system was stalled across the state and thousands of patients returned home without treatment.More than five thousand patients returned from OPD in three days
Due to the closure of OPD of all six Medical College Hospitals in Jharkhand, more than five thousand patients had to return to the hospital in three days. During this time, adding the number of people returning from many departments including RIM’s Neuro, Ortho, Surgery, Cardio, without showing to the doctor, then close to three thousand patients returned alone. However now OPD will reopen from Thursday.
