Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Aruna Chaudhary has instructed all Anganwadi centers in the state to be closed till further orders in view of the rise in cases of Kovid.
Chaudhary said that this decision has been taken keeping the safety of children as main. He said that ration and other materials would be delivered to the children and other beneficiaries from house to house by Anganwadi workers and helpers, so that the beneficiaries continue to get nutritious food. He also instructed to strictly follow all health protocol wearing masks, washing hands and keeping social distance from each other.
Chaudhary said that efforts are going on at war level to save the children from this deadly virus. He appealed to the workers and helpers to make people aware of the precautions taken by Kovid. He also clarified that Anganwadi workers and helpers will be present in Anganwadi centers and will provide nutritious food door-to-door and will go door-to-door for other activities.
Chaudhary said that the workers and helper will meet with the beneficiaries in a phased manner and ensure that the monitoring record of the physical development of the children is prepared within the time-limit given by the department.
