Bhopal: Like Ramakrishna Kusmaria in the assembly by election, Jayant Malaiya is claiming ticket for himself or son Siddharth Malaiya in this by-election. It is believed that if he or son does not get the ticket then He can rebel and get into the field.
The main reason for Malaiya’s defeat in the assembly elections was Kusmaria himself as he got rebel after not getting a ticket from BJP and jumped into the independents from Patharia and Damoh as a result Malaiya had to face defeat.

Jayant Malaiya is the strong face of BJP in Damoh. Looking at the political history of Damoh, the BJP has dominated the legislative constituency from 1990 to 2018. The BJP is still the MP. There have been seven assembly elections in Damoh from 1990 to 2018 with the name of former state finance minister Jayant Malaiya. In six consecutive elections, Jayant Malaiya won. In the 2018 assembly elections, Congress candidate Rahul Singh Lodhi defeated Jayant Malaiya by a margin of only 758 votes. His defeat was attributed to Ramakrishna Kusmaria who rebelled from BJP.Will history repeat?
