Now cardamom is being sold for 2 to 3 thousand rupees per kg
According to the wholesale traders of Khari Baoli, cardamom of good quality had reached the rate of 7 thousand rupees per kg. The increase in the rate had an effect on export as well. Cardamom demand in the Indian market was also reduced. Although there was also a cardamom of 5 thousand rupees in the market, the demand was neither cheap nor of good quality cardamom. But with the arrival of the goods, now the cardamom prices have started falling. Cardamom prices started falling a few days before Diwali. Today, between 2 and 3 thousand rupees a kg of cardamom is being sold in the market.
Cardamom became expensive due to floods and drought at some places
According to knowers, in 2019-20, due to the lack of rain in many states of the South, there was a drought and if there was excess rain. Which had a direct impact on the cultivation of cardamom. Due to which the demand for export was also not fulfilled and the local market also could not get cardamom and the rate kept going up. Before the fluctuations of the rain, 30 to 40 tonnes of cardamom was coming in the market daily. But the weather hit weakened the voice.
