“My friends were preparing for competitive examinations. When they wanted to study with me, I guided them. They liked my way and they cracked the exam. At their behest, we tried this idea in a workshop of 100 students. Further Later I also conducted a session for 20,000 students at the stadium together. During this time I found that there was a huge difference in the way the students were learning. They were just getting scared because of the fear of exams. So we got the idea that technology To develop their love for learning through use. Keeping this in mind, we created Think and Learn Private Limited in 2011. Then in August 2015 launched the Biju app. Today we have four crore subscribers out of which 28 lakh There are paid subscribers.
Now let me tell you about my team. When we were in the initial stages, my students helped me to expand my classes. These students later formed the core team of the company and this team is now running all the important functions of the company from content development, sales and marketing.. Byju’s team has only one addiction, that is to inculcate the habit of learning addiction among our students. This passion can be seen from top to bottom in the company.I am an engineer by profession, coincidentally an entrepreneur and a teacher by choice. I had never planned to start my work as a business. I just pursued my passion and invested my strength to fulfill it. Later it became a business. No business can be run with the passion to earn money, but the passion to change the society is more important. I think that The real fun here is not in building a billion dollar company, but in creating a billion thinkers and learners.
By the way, let me tell you that I did not do any business. That’s why I and my team learn by working. We learned the art from the business model to its expansion and raising funds. Anyway, if we do the work of teaching, then we also learn and do entrepreneurship.
Nowadays I do not get as much time as before to teach, but I am happy that many of my students are doing better than me today. We have teachers who are better than me today. Teaching is one of the most creative and powerful works. Teachers have a lifelong impact on children, which helps them in shaping their minds to give them a launch pad for their thoughts and imaginations.
