At the Mohababadi ground in Ranchi on Sunday, mercury teachers lashed out against the Hemant government. He has reiterated the old demand for confirmation and pay scale before the government. To accomplish this, the government has also been given an ultimatum till 10 March.
The mercury teachers have accused the government of over-promising their demands. Meena Kumari, who came to the Mohababadi Maidan from Chanho in Ranchi for the movement, reminded the CM that the king is known for keeping his word. He said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren is the king of the state. Raja does not back down on his promise, but the CM is seen to be clearly retracted by his promise to the mercury teachers. The teachers gathered here said that they are demanding their rights. The government promised this. We will take it
Demand for confirmation and pay scale has been rising since 2003
Actually, 65 thousand mercury teachers across the state have been demanding permanent and pay scale since 2003. In view of such a large number of mercury teachers, it was heavily discounted in the last assembly elections. The JMM and the Congress in the coalition government also included it in their manifesto. Within 3 months, Hemant Soren gave the assurance of salary scale and stabilization to the teachers within 3 months. Rishikesh Pathak, the state committee member of the integrated mercury teacher, said that since 2003 every government has done the job of deceiving the mercury teachers. He said that the mercury teachers carry out other works along with teaching in the school. But they are still being marginalized. 3 thousand untrained mercury teachers across the state have not received honorarium for the last 22 months. Due to which their financial condition has become very bad. It is reported that during every session of the Vidhan Sabha, the issue related to the demands of mercury teachers resonates throughout the state, but later it gets lost in the screws of the government manual. Now once again, the mercury teachers are ready for the agitation with their demands.
