An insurance scheme has been started by the government for the farmers of vegetables and fruits. Under this scheme, farmers will start getting guaranteed financial help through insurance on the damage to vegetables and fruits.
District Horticulture Officer Dr. Deen Mohammad told during a conversation with journalists that if frost, arson, hailstorm or any type of vegetable crop gets spoiled, then financial assistance of Rs. 30,000 will be given immediately. With this, if the cultivation of fruits is bad, then financial assistance of 40 thousand will be given by the government. He said that it is necessary to pay two and a half percent premium to join the scheme. 750 will have to be given for vegetable crops and 1000 rupees for the cultivation of fruits.
Dr. Deen Mohammed told that this insurance scheme will be able to alleviate the concerns of farmers who cultivate vegetables and fruits. Because the government has started an insurance scheme to do risk-free farming, keeping in mind their problems. Earlier, the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme was given for crops like wheat – mustard, cotton, etc. But in view of the future of the farmers, the government has now also given a big relief to the farmers who cultivate fruits and vegetables.
