Haryana’s Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala had disagreed a day before on the law being made against Love Jihad on the lines of Uttar Pradesh in the state. Home Minister Anil Vij has also reacted to this. He said that there is no mention of Hindu or Muslim anywhere in this law. The law is not named Love Jihad, rather the government is bringing the “Haryana Freedom of Religion Act”.
On the question raised by Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala regarding the Love Jihad Act, Home Minister Anil Vij said that the Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala objected to the word Love Jihad that no Hindu or Muslim was mentioned in this act. This law is being brought against religious conversion by greed, cheating or coercion under the guise of love. There is no mention of love jihad anywhere. Vij said that this law has been named “Haryana Freedom of Religion Act”. There is no talk of love jihad anywhere in this.
Dushyant Chautala expressed disagreement by saying
Haryana’s Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala had expressed the law against Love Jihad on the lines of Uttar Pradesh in the state. Dushyant Chautala had said that if the Home Ministry brings a law on forcible conversion then our party will definitely support it, but if any law will come in the name of ‘Love Jihad’ in particular, we and our MLAs will consider it. The Deputy Chief Minister made it clear that if any specific word related to caste was written in the law, then our party will consider it. It is important that a draft has been prepared for the enactment of law against Love Jihad in Haryana. It is likely that it will also be passed in this budget session. State Home Minister Anil Vij has made it clear that in the budget session only the bill related to love jihad and public property will be introduced. Both the bills have been drafted by the government.
