Today is an important day in the lives of two youths of Barmer-Jaisalmer settled on the Indo-Pakistan International Border in western Rajasthan. Brides of both the young men who were married to Pakistan are returning to India after 2 years through the Wagah border.
According to the information, two youths from Barmer-Jaisalmer were married in Sindh, Pakistan in the year 2019. Among them, Mahendra Singh of Girab area of Barmer district was married to Chhagani and Nepal Singh was married to Kailash in Pakistan. But, after 2 years of marriage, both the brides have not been able to come to India yet due to legal complications. Now the way for his return to India has been cleared. She is coming to India today via Wagah border. Today, from the Wagah border, Mahendra Singh’s wife Chhagani, Nepal Singh’s wife Kailash, his mother-in-law Mor Kanwar are coming to India.
The Thar Express train served as the link
It is noteworthy that many families of Jaisalmer and Barmer located in western Rajasthan have kinship in Pakistan. People of both countries have been crossing the border on the first married weddings and festivals. For this, the Thar Express train served as a link. However, the Thar Express was shut down in the last years after the growing bitterness between the two countries.
