Graduate pass tribal youth Sumit has been associated with handicrafts for the past 22 years. And by giving a beautiful appearance to the useless wood and bamboo around them, they try to bring it alive. Monuments made by Sumit are presented to government offices, officials and leaders. It has been appreciated for years. But not getting employment. This tribal youth wants to do his own business related to handicrafts by taking loan from government bank. But even after the efforts of the last three years, they are feeling despondent.
Sumit especially works with many works including wood and bamboo, including Tribal Work, Wall Mural, Wood Statue, Symbol, Show Pieces, Project Work and Paper Work. A few days ago, many local youths reached Sumit to learn handicraft work. But in view of Sumit’s long unemployment, they also opted out of this work.
Sumit’s sister-in-law says that due to employment, she has not been married yet despite being 35 years old. Sumit’s unemployment is becoming a matter of concern for the whole family. Whatever Sumit earned over the years, he spent only on purchasing items related to handicrafts. Now due to lack of money, they work only when the order is received. Sumit wishes to meet the Chief Minister once and meet Momento of Jharkhand. Also, we could reach the point of our employment there too.
