CORONA EFFECT: The Mahakal temple administration of Ujjain has decided that devotees will not be included in the Bhasma Aarti. The speed of Kovid has been hundred times here. Because of this, even the priests of the temple will not be seen in the premises without masks.
Significantly, in Ujjain in January, the number of infected with Corona remained at one, two or sometimes zero. But, now its speed has been more than 100 times for the last one week. Now more than 30 corona infected patients are being found every day. Let me tell you, in view of the decreasing pace of corona infection, it was decided in the meeting of Mahakal Temple Management Committee that devotees will start getting admission in Bhasma Aarti from the first Monday after Shivratri, but, now this decision has been pushed forward.
No devotees, no pandas-priests without masks
According to the decision of the committee, not only the devotees, but also the Pandey-priests will not be seen in the Mahakal temple without a mask. Ujjain Collector and Chairman of Mahakal Temple Committee Ashish Singh said that devotees will be able to get admission in Mahakal Temple by pre-booking as before. Also, the number of devotees booking daily in different slots will be reduced. Currently, 1500 devotees are being allowed in a slot every day, which will be reduced to around 1200 pilgrims. The temple was closed on March 21 last year
Significantly, devotees from far and wide reached here to see the grandeur of the Mahakal temple. The entry of outsiders into the temple was closed on 21 March 2020 due to the corona virus. However, its doors reopened only after 9 June 2020, but the Bhasma Aarti was not started at that time in terms of security.
