Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the dates of Bank Holidays in March 2022 in the month of March. It will start tomorrow on March 1 (Tuesday) with the Mahashivratri festival. According to RBI, in March 2022, on festivals and other special occasions, banks will be closed for a total of 7 days in different zones. Apart from this, banks will also remain closed on Sundays and on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month.

March 1 : Banks will remain closed in almost all major cities of the country including Kanpur, Jaipur, Lucknow, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
March 3: There will be a bank holiday in Gangtok on the occasion of Losar.
March 4: Banks will remain closed in Aizawl on the occasion of Chapchar Kut.
March 6 : Sunday holiday.
12 March: Holiday being the second Saturday of the month.
March 13: Sunday holiday.
March 17: There will be a holiday in Lucknow, Kanpur, Dehradun and Ranchi zones due to Holika Dahan.
March 18: Apart from Kolkata, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Kochi, Chennai, Imphal and Thiruvananthapuram, there will be a holiday in all other zones on the occasion of Holi/Dol Jatra.
March 19: On the occasion of Holi / Yaosang, there will be a holiday in Bhubaneswar, Imphal and Patna.
March 20: Sunday holiday.
March 22 : Holiday in Patna Zone on the occasion of Bihar Day.
26 March: Being the fourth Saturday of the month, it will be a holiday.
March 27: Sunday will be a holiday.

No effect on ATM and Digital Banking
RBI has clarified that the closure of branches of banks in the month of March will not have any effect on ATM and Digital Banking services. Only those customers will be affected by these holidays, who will have to physically go to the bank branch for some work. It includes services like check clearance and KYC.
