New Delhi. Ashneer Grover, the founder of BharatPe and the judge of the reality show Shark Tank India, has described Indians as the worst customers in the world. He says that making Indian your customer is a challenging task and it is very difficult to set up Online Grocery Business in India here.

Ashneer Grover said these things in a conversation with YouTuber Raj Shamani. Ashneer said that Indians are in a way the worst customers in the world. The Indian customer wants everything at a low price and the size is also less. Yes, delivery is required immediately. If someone does all this, then the Indian customer also needs a discount.

don’t want to pay for service
When asked about the business of grocery delivery in India and the challenges faced during his tenure as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Grofers, he said that the problem with Indian customers is that they only pay for the product. Wants, does not want to pay the price of service.

He said, ‘Fixing the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of all the products in India is a big challenge. Not so in America. There, when you go a little outside a city, you will find things cheaper, while there things will be most expensive in the middle of the city. Due to MRP in India, the price of the product remains the same everywhere and this is a big challenge for the grocery delivery business.

frequent purchases second challenge
Ashneer Grover says that the second major challenge of the grocery business is the way Indians buy groceries. In America and other countries, where people buy groceries for home only once a month. But, it is not so in India. People keep buying little things here. When Indians go to the market, they also buy a couple of grocery products among other things. Therefore, the average ticket size of the grocery app here is very less. On this also a discount has to be given and logistic expenses also have to be deducted. Because of this, setting up a grocery business here is a big challenge.
