new Delhi. Delhi-Meerut Expressway is going to be a one of its kind expressway in the country. This will be the first expressway in the country, on which the heaviest single span will be placed in the ROB to be built. The work of laying the span is going to start this month. Due to Delhi-Howrah being a busy route, single span is being kept in the ROB being built here. Toll will start levying on Delhi Meerut Expressway only after the formation of this ROB.

The Delhi Meerut Expressway and NH9 till Dasna are 16 lanes but narrow at Chhijarsi in Ghaziabad. Due to the railway track here, ROB has to be built. A 2352 ton single span steel truss bridge will be launched on four lanes of the Rail Over Bridge (ROB) under construction at Chipiyana railway crossing this month. NHAI officials claim that this is the heaviest single span truss bridge in the country to be placed on the ROB. This bridge came to the site in different parts and here its parts have been prepared by connecting them together. It is a 115 meter long truss bridge.

Electric Vehicle Special Mobility Zone will be started from two cities in the country

Along with the bridge, the work of preparing the launching pad around the rail line below has also started. By placing temporary girders, they will be connected to the span and then a railway line will be laid on them. This bridge will be launched by sliding through the hydraulic system from the rail track through the wheels. NHAI Project Director Arvind Kumar said that Germany’s machine has been ordered to launch the truss bridge.

After the formation of ROB, Delhi-Meerut Expressway and NH-9 will become a total of 16 lanes. At present, four lanes were old, while the six lanes of the Meerut-Delhi road are being trafficked. A 115-metre long truss bridge to be laid on four lanes of the new two lanes of the expressway and part of the old two lanes is in progress. Due to non-construction of ROB, even after the tender was held, the Ministry of Road and Transport did not allow toll collection here. According to officials, after the formation of ROB, toll collection will start.
