Raipur. Chhattisgarh is called the bowl of rice and there is no shortage of rice grains here. Farmers of the state are growing more than one variety of rice. In such a situation, farmers are earning double profits by planting black and red rice rich in medicinal properties. Yadram Sahu, a farmer of Baghamuda village of Mahasamund district, who came to the exhibition at the Science College Ground in the capital Raipur, told that black and red rice are produced in a completely organic way, ranging from manure to fertilizers and pesticides. Only organic products are used for this.
Farmers tell that paddy is cultivated for black and red rice like normal paddy cultivation. Similarly, Chhabi Rathi, a farmer of Petechua village of Balod, told that the yield of black and red rice is relatively less than that of normal rice and hence the farmers of Chhattisgarh are currently cultivating black and red rice according to the orders received. However, they say that the orders received continuously are also increasing.
What is the difference between red and black rice
Jai Singh Sengar, Senior Agricultural Development Officer, Balod Gurur said that organic black and red rice are rich in anti-oxidants, zinc, copper, manganese potassium, iron, potassium, iron vitamins and zinc. In such a situation, this rice is full of medicinal properties for sugar and heart patients. Also, this rice proves to be very helpful in removing malnutrition. The price of red and black rice has been kept at Rs 100 to 125 per kg due to its lower yield as compared to normal rice. Due to which farmers are getting double profit. Its demand is also increasing continuously.
