new Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday praised the government procurement portal ‘Government e-Marketplace’ ie GeM for securing orders worth Rs 1 lakh crore in just one year. Let us inform that GeM was launched in August 2016 for online purchase of goods and services by all the Ministries and Departments of the Central Government.
Referring to the achievement of this procurement portal, Modi said in a tweet, “Glad to know that GeM India has bagged orders worth Rs 1 lakh crore in a single year. This is a huge increase as compared to the previous years.
